How to Play ArrowsGame: Rules & Mechanics
ArrowsGame is a pure spatial logic puzzle built on a single, elegant rule. There are no luck elements, no power-ups, and no hidden information. Every board is a deterministic dependency problem about finding the correct sequence to release all arrows.
The Single Rule: An arrow leaves the board ONLY when every cell between its tip and the outer boundary, in the direction it points, is completely empty.
Step-by-Step Gameplay Guide
- Step 1: Identify Perimeter Exit Lanes — Look for arrows positioned near the outer edges of the 42×42 or 60×60 grid that point directly outward into open air.
- Step 2: Tap to Release — Click or tap an unblocked arrow. If its exit lane is 100% clear, it flies off the board with a sound effect.
- Step 3: Unblock Trapped Arrows — Removing one arrow clears the cell it previously occupied. Arrows behind it that were blocked now have an open lane ahead.
- Step 4: Avoid Invalid Moves — Tapping an arrow whose exit lane is blocked by another arrow triggers a red flash error and costs 1 life heart (in Main Route).
Understanding Grid Orientations
Arrows can point in four cardinal directions: North (↑), South (↓), East (→), and West (←). On 60×60 picture boards, arrows form complex polylines and curves. Always trace from the arrow's head all the way to the grid border before making a tap.
Keyboard & Accessibility Controls
ArrowsGame can be played entirely from a keyboard:
- Arrow Keys / WASD: Move selection cursor between remaining arrows.
- Enter / Spacebar: Release the currently highlighted arrow.
